School of Physiotherapy

About the School

The School of Physiotherapy at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Institute of Research and Technology is committed to excellence in physiotherapy education, rehabilitation, clinical practice, and research, guided by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) framework and an OutcomeBased Education (OBE) approach. Our curriculum integrates foundational sciences, professional knowledge, evidence-based physiotherapy, and competencyoriented clinical learning to prepare students for the evolving demands of healthcare. The program emphasizes the restoration and optimization of movement and functional ability, prevention of disability, promotion of physical well-being, and enhancement of quality of life through contemporary rehabilitation practices.

Our educational approach focuses on measurable learning outcomes and the progressive development of knowledge, clinical skills, professional competence, confidence, communication, ethical practice, and patient-centred care. Through structured practical training, clinical postings, internships, and supervised patient interactions, students are provided opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world clinical settings and develop sound clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities. We strive to nurture competent, compassionate, and lifelong-learning professionals who are equipped to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary healthcare, rehabilitation services, research, and community wellbeing.
