About the School

The School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Institute of Research and Technology (DSIRT) – Deemed-to-be University, is committed to developing competent, skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals who contribute meaningfully to modern healthcare delivery. The School offers a diverse range of undergraduate programmes spanning critical areas of allied healthcare, including Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiopulmonary Perfusion Technology, Critical Care Technology, Physician Associate, Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology, Dialysis Therapy Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Emergency Medical Technology and Optometry.

At SAHS, education is centred on Competency-Based Education (CBE), with emphasis on what students are able to demonstrate rather than merely what they are able to remember. Our academic approach integrates foundational knowledge with hands-on skills, clinical exposure, simulation-based learning, experiential learning and structured internship training. This enables students to progressively develop professional competence, clinical reasoning, communication skills, ethical values and confidence in real-world healthcare settings.

About the University

The School strives to create an environment that promotes clinical excellence, research, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and lifelong learning, while remaining aligned with the NCAHP Act, 2021 and national healthcare standards.

Our endeavour is simple: to transform students into competent, ethical and socially responsible healthcare professionals who are prepared to serve patients, communities and the evolving healthcare system with excellence and compassion.
